Hi friend! If you follow along on Instagram, you might have seen that our Livvy girl arrived 3 weeks early on May 16th. I drafted this post shortly before her birthday, but haven’t had a chance to come back to it until now.
Shortly before her early arrival, I took advantage of having my mom visiting to tackle some long overdue organizing projects around the house.
Between our attic/closet project and prepping the nursery, we have been in renovation mode for a while — it felt so productive to actually declutter, organize, and nest. I thought it might be helpful to share my favorite organizing solutions if you’re also in spring/summer cleaning mode!
This post is too long for email, so I recommend reading it in Substack for the best experience! If you enjoy this post, please leave a heart or share with friends who might also enjoy following along!
When it comes to decluttering and organizing, the hardest part is often figuring out where to start. Instead of trying to tackle too much at once, we focused our efforts on areas that would be the most impactful — the upstairs hall closet, kitchen pantry, a few kitchen drawers and the nursery.
For both the hall closet and pantry, I took everything out — this is a must! I was shocked at how much food and medicine was expired. Getting rid of all the expired items cleared out the majority of clutter. After that, I was able to see exactly what remained for organizing.
Between trips to The Container Store and multiple Amazon Prime deliveries — we ended the weekend with a handful of new organizing and storage solutions.
And you’re interested, I shared a bit more about the nursery decor here — I’ll be sharing more soon!
Favorite Organizers & Tools:
Label maker (a game changer for Type A folks!)
Bed sheet organizer (so helpful for keeping top and bottom sheets together! I also donated all our old sheets that we stopped using after upgrading to Boll and Branch sheets)
Acrylic stackable storage drawers (great for the bathroom, hall closet, or kitchen)
Interior tote bag organizer (I use this inside my LV Neverfull tote)
Snack organizer (fits our granola bars perfectly — I know it seems random, but Shel told me today just how useful this organizer is!)
Coozie organizer (it’s magnetic so it can stick on the fridge, but I have it stored on a pantry shelf)
Bamboo tea bag organizer (loved tossing out all the partially used, crumbled tea boxes!!)
I should have taken a before picture! You’ll just have to trust me that the after is a major upgrade.
These snack organizers (with adjustable dividers) are the perfect size for our pantry, but you could also use them inside your fridge.

It’s debatable whether this trash bag organizer is really a need, but it’s a small upgrade that makes the dreaded chore of changing the bag that much easier. I stacked the second snack organizer on top to organize small trash, diaper, and Bailey’s poop bags.
I also ordered another set of these drawer organizers to use in my dresser to organize my socks and underwear.
I know the drawers won’t stay this way forever, but it is so satisfying to have everything organized.
Thankfully we finished these mini projects just in time — coming home from the hospital knowing where everything was gave me so much peace of mind amidst the sleep deprivation and newborn chaos. I still can’t believe she’s a month old!
Until next time,
Kelly
