Hi, friends! This week’s Slow Scroll is extra special — sharing a peek into my baby shower (still smiling from all the love and sweet moments!), plus a round up of dreamy spring occasion dresses, a few recent outfits, and some other finds worth bookmarking.
This post is too long for email, so I recommend reading it in Substack for the best experience! If you enjoy this post, please leave a heart or share with friends who might also enjoy following along :)
As we get older and schedules get busier, the opportunities to spend time with long distance friends and family are far and few between — it felt extra meaningful to host some of our nearest and dearest in March to celebrate baby girl arriving this June.
It was a FULL weekend that started on Friday night with an intimate welcome party at our house, followed by the shower on Saturday, and then a night out at Le Tejana. I was running on fumes and adrenaline by Sunday! If you’re looking for a fun, casual spot in DC to host a private event (for up to 25 guests), Le Tejana was great.
I wish I could bottle up all the love, happiness, and support I felt over those 72 hours.

It should come as no surprise that I considered a wide selection of dresses before landing on my ultimate pick. None of the dresses I pulled were strictly maternity and would be great options for a variety of spring special occasions. Shop the whole collection here!
Top row (L-R): Pink floral with neck scarf // Blue dress // Off-the-shoulder dress // Pink caftan // Green floral dress // Blue and white long sleeve shift // Yellow sleeveless dress // Floral dress // Blue long sleeve dress
Bottom row (L-R): Purple dress // Long sleeve dress // Neon dress // Yellow dress // Shirt dress // Gingham dress // Pale pink dress // Off the shoulder dress // Blue and white shirt dress

Recent outfits:
Outfit 1 (left): A casual outfit to get a pedicure — I paired this soft AYR cardigan with relaxed, silky pants. Just as comfortable as an athleisure outfit, but a little more elevated. The weather is finally warm enough to break out my favorite A.Emery sandals. These sandals tend to sell out every summer, so I recommend ordering now if you’re considering them! This chic Cleobella clutch was a recent PR gift and has been on heavy rotation lately. It comes with a crossbody strap, but I removed it to style as a clutch.
Outfit 2 (middle): For an elevated weeknight outfit — fully embracing the spring weather with a lightweight sweater dress (mine is old from Splendid, but this is similar)! For an extra layer, I draped this Lake cardigan over my shoulders, and finished the outfit with my Hunting Season red clutch (while this exact color is sold out, this brick shade is so pretty) and Koio loafers (which are currently under $100!)
Outfit 3 (right): For the office — I started the week off with a simple black and tan color palette and spring friendly layers. I layered a mock neck tank (similar option) beneath a bell sleeve cardigan (similar option). These Spanx pants have been surprisingly bump friendly, and these Loeffler Randall ballet flats continue to be a favorite. A classic trench coat (similar) is always a layering staple during transitional seasons.
Adding this chic striped maxi dress to cart — I love the green, blue, and yellow color palette!
Feeling fatigued by the trend cycle? I enjoyed this article about Gen Z’s perspective on current trend cycles. It also left me questioning if being anti-trend is a trend in itself?
Singing the praises of this setting spray ever since I used it the day of my baby shower! I can’t believe my makeup held so well despite the multiple times I shed happy tears.
A scroll through fashion history — The 50 Most Iconic Looks of All Time.
If you haven’t read Colleen Hoover’s thriller novel Verity yet, you have until May 2026 when it’s slotted to be released as a movie! If you’ve read it, how do you feel about the casting?
A nautical navy striped short set (top and shorts) to live in this summer — I especially love the wider, longer cut of the sleeves.
Loved seeing the Déhanche shoutout in this piece on small brands who are dominating in their categories. The Hollyhock Belt always elevates an outfit, but I recommend sticking with the silver hardware since the gold has the potential to rub off with excessive wears.
Adding Bar Betsie in Union Market (from the team behind Jane Jane) to my must visit list!
The photos from Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom’s Mexico wedding are truly breathtaking.
This lip liner + lip oil from Merit is my current spring obsession.
Until next time,
Kelly
