With summer travels around the corner, I’m starting to think about what I already have and what special pieces I want to add to my wardrobe — especially for the destination wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends. As someone who predominantly wears neutrals and solids, I really do love infusing color and playful prints into my summer and vacation style.
Before we chat about the brands, I want to highlight a few tips to consider when shopping in preparation for vacation. It is incredibly easy to get carried away by the idea of our vacation self. To try and avoid buyer’s remorse, I keep two things in mind. Firstly, I don’t need an entirely new wardrobe for a vacation. I do like to get a few new pieces, but I also shop my closet for past resort pieces that may have only been worn once on a prior vacation. Secondly, the importance of considering how a piece aligns with my personal style. I consider whether I’m buying with the intention of everyday wear or if the piece is dedicated to resort only — if it is resort only, the piece has to reflect core characteristics of my style so I can feel confident that I will pack it for future vacations.
Whether your style is minimal, bold, feminine, or funky, scroll below for 7 resort wear brands I highly recommend checking out.

1. Alémais
Australian brand Alémais only launched in 2020, but has quickly become a fashion fan favorite — this isn’t so surprising once you learn that the founding designer had 20+ years of fashion experience, including time spent designing at Zimmerman. Alémais heavily emphasizes their commitment to being a brand with purpose and integrity, for every piece sold, a tree is planted. I see similarities between Alémais and Zimmerman — both well known for their feminine and boho designs, along with a special gift for incorporating stunning embroidered details. Alémais seems to have a more playful and funky side though, evidenced by psychedelic and whimsy prints, vintage graphics, and bold colors.
Available to shop: Net-A-Porter, Goop, Revolve, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Shopbop, Mytheresa

2. SIR
There’s something in the water in Australia, because SIR is another brand I love with roots down under. SIR (which stands for separates, intimates, and ready-to-wear) was founded by two friends who felt like they had nothing to wear. These days the brand is known for their modern, minimalist aesthetic and focus on high quality, ethically sourced fabrics. I have a linen skirt from the brand and upon trying it on, I was instantly impressed by the construction and weight of the fabric. It’s hard not to want everything the brand creates — even the simplest of pieces have elevating details for added interest like beaded straps, folded over waistlines, and open backs.
Available to shop: Nordstrom, FWRD, Bergdorf Goodman, Mytheresa

3. Bondi Born
Another contemporary Aussie brand (I told you!) I love is Bondi Born. Dedicated to sustainability and supporting local craftsmanship, the brand is certified B corporation — which means that they meet “high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability”. The pieces are elegant and sophisticated, while simultaneously laidback and chill. I love a bold print on vacation, but need a mix of minimal pieces as well. I have a few dresses from the brand and enjoy wearing the sleek and minimalist styles year after year. I’m already planning on packing past favorites for a trip to the Bahamas this summer.
Available to shop: Revolve, Neiman Marcus, Goop, Net-A-Porter

4. Farm Rio
Brazilian brand Farm Rio has become synonymous with resort wear since expanding to the US in 2019. The brand continues to impress me with each new season collection seemingly better than the last. The brand proudly proclaims they “believe in the existence of happiness” which is evident in the colors, shapes, and delicate details woven throughout their collections. Many of the brands in this round up are pricey, and while Farm Rio isn’t inexpensive, many items are under the $300. If you have a tropical destination wedding, this is one to definitely check out.
Available to shop: Shopbop, Bloomingdales, Net-A-Porter, Saks

5. Cala de la Cruz
Another South American brand, Cala de la Cruz is a free spirited resort brand hailing from Cali, Colombia. In Spanish, the word “cala” means small rounded bay where the sea calmly sits — cala de la cruz is an imaginative warm place that always promises a joyful time. This is a newer to me brand that makes me think of Johanna Ortiz at a more accessible price point. The prints are unique, incorporating eclectic and colorful graphics, like the funky sun and playful swirls prints.
Available to shop: Tuckernuck, Moda Operandi, Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie

6. OAS
O, A, and S are the three initials of Oliver Adam Sebastian’s name, the founder of this Swedish resort brand. Inspired over his various trips to Barcelona, OAS was created as a reaction to Swedish winter in hopes it could provide styles that exude vacation nostalgia year-round. Many of the pieces have a vintage aesthetic, incorporating bold colors, geometric designs, repeating patterns, and fringe. I’m also thinking about Sheldon’s summer style and plan to check out their sizable men’s collection for him!
Available to shop: Moda Operandi, Nordstrom (Men’s), FWRD (Men’s)

7. Posse
Remember that amazing two-piece linen matching set (vest + skirt) that Sofia Richie wore during her wedding weekend? That was Posse. Another Austalian-based label, Posse is known for their summery minimalist aesthetic and slow-fashion approach to manufacturing. The brand prides itself on producing limited quantities (to avoid surplus) which often means styles go quickly. Posse has managed to simplify summer dressing — the versatile pieces are polished with everyday potential, whether on vacation or at home.
Available to shop: Revolve, Goop, Moda Operandi, Bergdorf Goodman
It was incredibly challenging to narrow it down to only 7 brands to highlight — there are so many brands designing beautiful resort collections that I hated to leave any out! In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more summer and resort essentials, like linen pants and swimwear to name a few. Until next time,

We just started carrying Alemais at Anthro. I'm curious to see how it sells. The price point is so much higher than our typical offering
